About Us

TopazThyme is the husband/wife songwriting and home studio music production team of Bunny (Ms. Bunny) Relerford and Durwood Walker. Our aim is to produce music that uplifts, inspires and celebrates every stage of life. That said, our songs speak especially to older listeners; to encourage them to keep dreaming, growing and embracing life to the fullest. 

Bunny and Durwood met while members of the Prince Georges County, Maryland Senior Community Service Program (SCSEP). SCSEP is a U.S. Department of Labor-funded work-based job training program for those 55+. So, right away we were in surroundings with a special focus on society's elders.

Our Creative Journey

A few months into the program, we discovered that we both loved creating music.  Again, the age factor influenced us and we wrote and recorded our first song…"It's Never Too Late (To Dream A Dream)." After that came “Be Good To Yourself," prompting us to adopt the slogan It's Never Too Late To Be Good To Yourself. We want to encourage our peers to be mindful of treating body, mind and spirit with care.

Our Sound

Our style blends the heartfelt warmth of love, friendship, spiritually, and emotional storytelling. Through rich melodies and honest lyrics, we explore themes of resilience, positive aging, enduring love for God and Man, and making the most out of life's every moment.

Our Focus

Unlike traditional performing artists, we focus exclusively on recording. We don't tour or perform live, though as we write this, we are inquiring into the possibility of performing in senior facilities and similar venues. Our mission is simple; to creaste music that reminds everyone that every day is a gift and the most thrilling and rewarding chapters of life can still be ahead.
